“We had we had an appointment to go see a psychic and we…we got there. And as soon we sat down she looked at me and she said, “you just lost somebody, didn't you?” And she says, “I mean like really, really recent.” And I was a little setback because my grandfather had literally just passed away that morning. And she said, “I can't tell the name but his name starts with a B,” and my grandpa's name was Byron.”
Kyle Yates is a paranormal investigator, hosts podcasts on paranormal investigations and is the owner of Vibes Broadcast Network where he hosts two shows, “Listen to the Vibes” and “Into the Pit.” He got into podcasting because along with investigating inexplicable phenomena himself, he wanted a chance to speak with other investigators, including some of the ones he had followed and found inspiring. Struggling with health issues and noticing how much negativity there is in podcasting and YouTube, he wanted to start some inspiring and positive shows.
Kyle always had inexplicable experiences his whole life, but it took watching “Ghost Hunters” show on TV to get some context around what might be going on. He decided he needed to get on a team, eventually start his own investigation team, and one day meet and hunt with the team on “Ghost Hunters.” He did end up getting on a team through his wife, in a very cute story right when they met for their first date. It was clear they were meant to be together when she had to cancel their first date due to an emergency ghost-hunt. And then the team she was on had an opening and Kyle jumped on it.
When he was a kid Kyle had a few inexplicable experiences that made no sense, that now he thinks most likely were “paranormal.”
Liz and Kyle discuss the question of this type of phenomenon - haunting or apparition? Is the hypothetical ghost an imprint of a past situation and person who has now passed, similar to watching a video recording on YouTube? Or are they a discarnate consciousness - currently a conscious being who a living person can interact with - more like having a conversation on ZOOM. If all occurrences are recorded in light, and when you see photographs from deep-space and you are looking back millions of years in time, why could consciousness of the past and people of the past not somehow be recorded into something that people see and perceive as a ghost? But here are things we just can't explain. And it is fascinating to be curious about all that we don’t know and can’t explain.
Kyle shares some of the most inexplicable occurrences he has has while on paranormal investigations, some of which was caught on camera. But not only do we not really understand what is going on in so many aspects of how our world works, we also don’t have the proper vocabulary to explain. Liz and Kyle discuss of there is a god, a collective consciousnesses, biocentrism - a type of consciousness that created matter and the universe. Morphic Resonance and some studies conducted by Dr. Rupert Sheldrake seem to point to their being a type of collective consciousness.
While Kyle has encountered some phenomena that he cannot explain, what about the reverse where something paranormal seems to be going on, but really it has a normal explanation. That actually turns out to be the situation in almost every case and Kyle shares some examples such as inexplicable noises that really turn out to be an old fax machine.
Initially, Kyle never believed in psychic mediums, but when he accompanied his wife on a reading she was getting, this medium knew things she could not have known. Eventually, they became friends with the medium and she joined them on their paranormal investigation teams. During one investigation this medium got information that at first made no sense to the host of the house they were investigating. Later when this woman checked with her mother, it turned out the medium had uncovered a family secret. The woman was stunned and the medium not only ended up giving an evidential reading, but showed she was not reading the mind of this woman.
Kyle and Liz also discuss the probability of life on other planets, how science fiction from the past often ends up coming true, physics and more of life’s biggest mysteries.
