Mike Anthony is the author of “Love, Dad: How My Father Died... Then Told Me He Didn't.” He also has an appearance where he shares part of his story in Netflix Surviving Death docuseries.
When Mike Anthony’s father unexpectedly died, his family was left shocked and utterly devastated. However, when a phone call came out of the blue delivering a complete stranger’s message that Mike’s dad had contacted her from “the other side,” it kicked off a chain of events that would entirely change Mike’s family’s perspective on life, death, and the transcendent nature of love. Join Mike on his remarkable quest, as his skeptical mindset gets challenged and eventually overruled through an extraordinary journey, leading to something that would forever change his understanding of reality.
Love, Dad pushes the boundaries of what we think we know, opening the door to new and exhilarating possibilities – possibilities that Mike was surprised to discover science has examined many times…with paradigm-shifting results.
To millions of people, the belief in some form of afterlife offers solace, and especially so in times of loss. When stricken with grief, many turn to their faith in order to ease the pain, seeking in ancient scriptures comforting clues about what may happen when we “shuffle off this mortal coil.” But what might it be like to be made certain that death is truly not the end? In Love, Dad we get one family’s answer.
Mike Anthony is a sometime professional actor, majority time bartender at Hamilton on Broadway. After a personal experience completely shifted his understanding of how the universe works, Mike turned to science for answers. Now spending his time investigating and writing about various lines of evidence suggesting we are much more than the bodies we temporarily occupy, a portion of Mike's story is featured in the 2021 Netflix series, “Surviving Death.” Mike is also the author of Life At Hamilton, a collection of stories chronicling his time bartending at the Broadway phenomenon, Hamilton: An American Musical

In this episode:
- After his dad died, science-minded Mike researched life after death.
- Mike originally wanted to be a science teacher so he studied science in school, but didn’t continue because he decided to study acting and become an actor
- He was fascinated by physics and the double slit experiment when he learned about it in high school.
- He thought consciousness could be a cause of double slit.
- The double slit made him realise there were questions science didn’t know.
- Since we don’t know how things work, scientists can’t say that there is definitely no life after death.
- He always had a vague notion there was something more than this life. After losing his dad, a vague notion was not enough.
- He got a sign right away when he found a note about a song from his dad when they were clearing out his stuff.
- A medium unexpectedly reached out to Mike and his family with a message and evidence.
- But Mike assumed if mediumship had been real, scientists would have studied it.
- His sister went to a group reading with a medium, Angelina Diana, where she got a highly evidential message.
- Mike and his family hired Angelina Diana to give a reading to their family. They were blown away.
- Mike began to change his view on an afterlife.
- But he still questioned so he reached out to Angelina to be part of a documentary with an experiment.
- He set up strict protocols, but Angelina got accurate information at a level Mike could not explain.
- Mike got some amazing signs from his father too.
- Watching skeptics and listening to them would get Mike upset. He was convinced that they were seeing the reality of how mediums were doing what they were doing. Something he was not smart enough to understand.
- During an amazing sign from his dad, a message or sense came to him that some things are inexplicable and even if someone smarter thinks there is no afterlife, that doesn’t mean there isn’t.
- What stage mentalists are doing is not mediumship.
- If the evidence is so strong, why are skeptics scientists not taking this seriously.
- Mike saw one thing that blew him so away so much he still can barely process it but it changed his whole worldview.
- He watched the physical medium Stewart Alexander which changed his life.
- Mike is also looking into UFOs.
- The congressional hearings on UFOs have been going on.
- Are there species from other planets who have come here?
- UFOs seem to tie in with consciousness.
